Energy Renewable Powering Lights Designed For Protecting the Environment
All over the world, governments are worried about the energy crisis. How to deal with this problem? Newburyport has spent a great deal of energy to solve this problem. They install solar panels on the Nock Middle School, install solar street lights, write grants and audit the city buildings. All the work are very valuable.
The Blitz is a major initiative aiming to get hundreds of homes weatherized before next winter. With the help of the EAC weatherization team and National Grid, Newburyport residents will receive free energy audits, as many energy-efficient CFL solar light bulbs as they need and free air sealing, plus low-flow shower heads and programmable thermostats are available. In addition to these free products and services, follow on weatherization efforts will be subsidized: If a home needs additional work, National Grid will pay 75 percent of the cost (up to $2,000) to do the work. If even more work is need, 0 percent loans are available. In all, this is a great deal.
The EAC's challenge is to organize the effort ¡ª get people to make the call and schedule the audit. However, this is a large effort, and we need help. We already have a local Brownie troop ready to go, but more is needed. Specific areas of need are expert communicators and local media support, good project organizers and people to support them. Local contractors and building professionals are welcome too ¡ª this is a big effort and many skills will be needed.
The hardest problem for all programs is always to make them aware of the importance of something. The solar street lights could not escape from this tradition. Few of the people know the importance of replace the old street light with solar street light.
