Solar power up our future life

More than solar water heater and solar street lights, people are trying to provide energy for all the other staffs with solar power. Recently, the new scheme will offer major benefits to Indian telecom tower companies that convert cell phone towers from being powered by diesel generators to solar power.
Dr. Bharat Bhargava, Director, Solar PV, MNRE, "off-grid solar power as the criteria used to subsidize 30 percent in the final set. At present, we are working with the Ministry of Telecommunications and take their recommendations.
A large portion of the National Solar Mission’s target will come from grid connected solar power. However, the off-grid opportunity is also huge, especially for the diesel based telecom sector. “The new scheme will cover off-grid or decentralized solar photovoltaic (SPV) installations in rural areas, including solar powered telecom towers, solar home lighting, solar lantern systems, solar street lighting systems, and rooftop SPV systems with or without grid interaction,” says Ahmar Raza, scientist, MNRE.
The challenges
Shubhra Mohanka, director, marketing, Gautam Polymer says, “Converting diesel run telecom towers to run on solar power will be a challenging task and it requires a new business model of 'overpowering' the telecom tower to make it effective. For example, a telecom tower needs 5kW of power, so you can design a 60kW system and put it up on the tower. With this, the power company does not have to pay for the extra 55 kW that you are getting; instead it can be supplied to the nearby villages that need power. And on a low sunlight day, it can be diverted back to the tower.”
Just like solar street lights, the transceiver stations distributed throughout the country. The solar power system will need to overcome the short cut of sustainable powering.
