The student lighting designer winner for 2010 will be announced

Lighting design has always been one of the most important subjects of lighting industry. And student lighting designer encourages students to spend more time on the industry. And many of the designs are very innovative and provide new idea for the lighting industry especially the solar street lights.
On 14th July (Stratford Manor, Stratford-upon-Avon) the 2010 Student Lighting Design Award winners will be announced.
Thirteen designs have been chosen for this year’s Final, the expert panel of Judges had the very difficult task of selecting, from the highest quality flatwork.
The decision was taken to award Best Flatwork to Catherine Bailey from Nottingham Trent University (to be presented in July), for Mr & Mrs
LED technologies were embraced as the light source of choice with twelve of the thirteen finalists incorporating them into their designs
Spearmark International Ltd will again sponsor the award for the best Children’s Lighting Design and working with ACID we are introducing intellectual property (IP) as another tier onto the criteria for judging.

We have some of the best and innovative lighting designers in the UK; I want to ensure that all students who enter our Awards do so with a clear understanding of the IP value they create through their design and innovation”.

This competition allows students to gain valuable knowledge about the lighting industry, whilst using their creative skills to develop new lighting products. The contest is sponsored by a number of big industry companies. It will surely speed up the development of lighting industry.
