Without Solar Nigeria Will Have To Bear 30 Years Without Stable Power Supply

One of the most serious problems with Nigeria is that, the power system of the country is paralyzed after years of unrest. The country is now experiencing tough times without stable power supply. And the situation will last about 30years before if there is no some great change to the country. The solar energy may change the situation.

Though it may be too early to start assessing the performance of the economy under President Jonathan Good luck; what are the economic indicators? Yes, it is obviously too early to do any thorough assessment, but be that as it may, the economy is beginning to pick up now especially that a new government is on the saddle, there is stability. For some time, around November/December last year, the economy was in a stalemate because there was near instability in government because of the vacuum created by the ill health of late President Umaru Yar”Adua. But now that President Jonathan has been given support to take over the government, we are beginning to see a sense of stability; the economy is once again running at full steam. At the moment, indications are that the economy is going to pick up again.

Naturally, I will recommend that the government look into the power sector. This is because every other sectors of the economy continue to remain stagnant because of the power sector problem and unless it is addressed, we will still have problem moving the economy forward. There are also other aspects of the economy that require attention. Of course, we cannot take all the challenges at once that probably informed the thinking of late President Yar’Adua coming up with the seven point agenda. The essence of the agenda of course was to provide him with a road map to run the economy from his own perspective. But there are so many ways the economy can be made to move forward, but depending on the funds available and the team that constitutes the president’s cabinet.

With the application of many solar products, the problem of lacking stable power supply will be easy settled down. The solar street lights and other solar products could produce electricity for lighting. The solar energy is the most promising solution to the problem of energy for the countries lack of infrastructure.
